Embarking on a character style study, I immersed myself in the enchanting worlds of Disney classics like Dumbo and Peter Pan. Analysing the distinctive character designs that have captivated audiences for generations, I explored the endearing simplicity of Dumbo’s expressive eyes and the dynamic energy of Peter Pan’s Lost Boys. Each character provided a unique opportunity for study, allowing me to dissect the fundamental elements of Disney’s iconic style, from exaggerated features to fluid lines. I observed how these elements conveyed personality and emotion with remarkable clarity, often through vibrant colours and expressive gestures. This practice piece reflects my exploration of Disney’s timeless magic, inspiring me to infuse my own artwork with charm and charisma.
