Character Design

Watercolour and Gel Pen

I've ventured into the realm of character design, focusing on the tender innocence of children's faces rendered in watercolour. Each stroke of pigment breathes life into a diverse array of youthful visages, with varying hair, eye, and skin tones reflecting the beautiful diversity of humanity. I used contrasting colours to bring out the uniqueness of each child. With a minimalist approach, I delicately highlighted key details using pen strokes, allowing the purity of the watercolour medium to shine through. Through this experimentation, I aim to capture the universal essence of childhood while celebrating the unique characteristics that make each individual special. As I immerse myself in this creative process, I discover the power of simplicity in conveying emotion and storytelling, inviting viewers to connect with the soulful gaze of each character and embark on a journey of empathy and understanding.
